What's A Blog?

Q&A:
I'm hearing every ones has a blog, what the heck is a blog? And how can I get one.
I just to say the same thing, I thought it best to explain what a Blog is,
it's purpose, and why we're so darn excited about it ;
So what is a Blog?
Blog is short for weblog. Basically, it's a journal, similar to one you might write in yourself, only it's available online for all the world to see.
The purpose of our blog?
To connect in a more personal and immediate way with past, present and future guests. To share information about upcoming workshops, events and activities taking place here at our retreat center.
A blog is often a mixture of what is happening in a person's life and what is happening on the Web, a kind of hybrid diary/guide site, although there are as many unique types of blogs as there are people.

People maintained blogs long before the term was coined, but the trend gained momentum with the introduction of automated published systems,
most notably Blogger at www.blogger.com Thousands of people use services such as Blogger to simplify and accelerate the publishing process.

Blogs are alternatively called web logs or weblogs. However, "blog" seems less likely to cause confusion, as "web log" can also mean a server's log files.
